Why Is National Association Membership Important?

Some states require membership in a non-profit national home inspector association as a condition for licensing and practice

Alabama, Pennsylvania, North Dakota and Maryland, for example, require home inspectors to maintain membership in a national home inspector association that maintains ethical standards. In Pennsylvania, the law requires home inspectors to be a full member of a national association to be compliant and perform home inspections in the state.

In addition, national associations must be nonprofit. The North American Association of Home Inspectors (AHI) is one of only a few that meet that requirement.

PHII is proud to provide a free paid membership in a national non-profit home inspector association upon graduation from the course!

All PHII graduates receive:

a paid 1-year $199 membership in the North American Association of Home Inspectors (AHI)
